Nami Hotatsu

In general, our mind is easily changed by music.

Indeed, someone, who have intolerable agony might wish to receive music therapy as alternative medicine.

However, the favorite music is quite different by each individuals and even by their occasions.

Someone might like listening minimal techno (such as “Jeff Mills”) in upper emotion but once turn in downer, he/she might prefer to listening sludge core (such as “Sunn 0)))” ).

So, when we are in downer emotion, we might be able to change by listening music.

Recently, I purchased four music CDs.
1. Ten No Niwa (=Garden of universe, my translation) / Nami Hotatsu
2. Deep Space 3 / Let there be light (Ko Ishikawa + Nami Hotatsu)
3. Stay Forever in This Dream / Let there be light (Ko Ishikawa + Nami Hotatsu)
4. Ring of Life / Nami Hotatsu

All of above are written and produced by Nami Hotatsu.
They might be categorized as Pops (1) ~ Chill out music (2~4).

Nami Hotatsu is one of a Japanese female musician, who has made extremely beautiful “chill out” (someone might regard as ambient and/or new age) music.


I think it is very difficult to differentiate chill out, ambient and new age music.
But my definition is as follows.

Chill out; the name is all. Mellow and slow tempo music, which may calm down our mind. Epicureanism.

Ambient; the founder is “Brian Eno”. Mellow and slow, but sometimes it makes melancholic.

New Age; the synonym is “healing” and “easy listening”. The music is closely related with philosophy and religion –especially oriental and/or primitive one-.


I can say “the music is one of a tool to change emotions”.

I’m very happy when I listen, and impressed her music.

万年筆 / Fountain pen

高校の卒業祝いにとWatermanの万年筆（多分、「エキスパート」）を買い求めしばらく使用していたのだが、すぐに使用を中止してしまった
インクの流れや書き味に何となく不満を持っていたのを覚えている

この数年、LamyのSafariという万年筆を愛用している
個人的にかなりよくできた製品だと思う
デザイン・書き味を考えるとかなりお買い得だ

収集癖が高じて次の万年筆を探していた
候補は以下の通り
1. ペリカンのスーベレーンM800
2. パイロットのカスタム823
3. ラミーの2000

今かけている眼鏡との相性を考えて、ラミーの2000を購入
だけどインクの流量に多少の不満を感じる

そうなると人間ドツボで、書き味の良かったパイロットのカスタム823を購入した
非常に良くできた万年筆で、書き味も非常に良好
この嬉しさを誰かに伝えたくて、万年筆好きの友人にプレゼントした

そうしたらすぐに、セーラーの万年筆が逆プレゼントされる
多分、セーラー　プロフィット21の長刀研ぎ、ニブはB
とても独特の「ぬらぬら」とした書き味ですぐに気に入った

ますます万年筆のドツボにはまる予感がする


I purchased a Waterman’s fountain pen –may be “expert”- for commemorate of my graduation of high school, but I discontinued its use soon.
I had dissatisfied its ink flow and writing feeling.

In recent years, I have used Lamy Safari fountain pen.
In my opinion, it is one of the greatest product.
Consider it design and writing feeling, it is a good bargain.

I’m collector.
Thus, I search next one.
The candidates are follows…
1. Pelican, 800 series
2. Pilot, custom 823
3. Lamy, 2000

I purchased “Lamy 2000”, because it got along well with my glasses.
But I did not satisfied due to the poor ink flow.

So, I trapped.
I purchased “Pilot, custom 823”, because it’s good writing feeling.
This is a very gooood product. The writing feeling is veryyyy gooood!!
I want to tell my pleasure. So I present same one for who likes fountain pen.

Sooner, I received Sailor fountain pen.
I guess, “sailor, profit 21, Naginata B nib”.
The writing feeling is very unique, and immediately I love it.

I feel tumbling down into pitfall of fountain pen.

一人では生きられない / No one live alone…

分かっている
…分かっているけど、つい自分の殻に閉じこもってしまう

今日、「音楽の持つ力」を再確認した
その音楽はちょっと寂しい
寂しいけど、ポジティブな響きを持っている

生きているといろんな悩みがあるけど、
でもそれはみんなが感じていること

もぅちょっと、がんばれる気がしてきた
本当にありがとう


I know.
…I know, but I often fall down my inside.

Today, I reconfirm “the power of music”.
The music is somewhat lonely.
Somewhat lonely, but it sound positive.

Living makes own distress, but that is what everyone feel.

I got a power.
Power of exertion for living.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
